Raleigh, NC
When you drive through Raleigh, it is easy to see why its founders named it the City of Oaks,
as the stately trees welcome you home. But Raleigh's natural
beauty is only one of its many drawing cards. The North
Carolina
State Capital is home to premier cultural centers, including
the North Carolina Museum of Art, the North Carolina Symphony,
North Carolina Theater, and a host of other museums and performing
arts companies.
Raleigh is the seat of North Carolina government, and is home to several colleges and universities including North Carolina State University, Meredith College, Shaw University, St. Augustine's College, Peace College, and Wake Technical Community College. Sporting events add excitement to Raleigh, which is home to the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes, the AFL's Carolina Cobras, and the ACC's N.C. State Wolfpack. Of course, shopping, dining, and entertainment opportunities abound in Raleigh, the largest of the Triangle's cities.
